Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our close-knit and dynamic team of matrons in this exciting clinical setting. We are looking for an individual with extensive critical care nursing experience including management of a team, and evidence of successful clinical leadership. The successful applicant will play a key role in the delivery of our critical care services which include ITU, Recovery, HDU and Outreach. Currently our Critical Care department consists of 24 ITU, 7 Recovery and 10 HDU beds, and our Outreach team provide a seven day a week service. We care for patients following a variety of cardiothoracic procedures including transplantation. Our nurses acquire specialist skills in the management of patients requiring interventions such as advanced modes of ventilation, IABP, CVVHDF, nitric oxide, ECMO and cardiac pacing.

Working closely with the Divisional Lead Nurse and Lead Consultant, you will ensure that the department delivers consistent high standards and be integral into designing how services evolve on our site.

You will be a self -starter, driven by challenges within a division which is fast moving and changing. You will be able to be flexible and work independently and within a team to deliver the Trust’s agenda.
