Job Summary

Royal Brompton & Harefield Trust

Band 6 Research Nurse/Research Coordinator

Salary: £36,481 - £44,044 PA. INC HCAS

Fixed Term 22.5 Hours

Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is the largest heart and lung centre in the UK and among the largest in Europe. We are a partnership of two specialist hospitals which are known throughout the world for their expertise, standard of care and research success.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 nurse with relevant cardiology experience to join our team of cardiovascular research nurses at the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Cardiovascular Research Centre.

You will join a team supporting research studies in a range of cardiovascular conditions including heart failure, valvular disease, cardiac arrhythmias and inherited cardiac diseases.   Key job activities will include screening, recruitment, and consenting of eligible patients, arranging clinical assessments of trial participants, data collection and entry, randomisation and organisation of day to day trial activities.  This role will also involve extensive liaison with both internal and external clinical and research staff and requires attention to detail and a proactive approach.

You will be a registered nurse and have clinical experience within an acute clinical setting. You will have knowledge of research or audit and have a responsible and flexible approach to your workload intensity with good organisational ability. You will be able to maintain clear and accurate records and be self-motivated, friendly and use your own initiative. Experience in clinical research is not essential: the successful applicant will receive a comprehensive induction to the service.

The post is based at the Royal Brompton Hospital, but some cross-site working may occasionally be required at our Harefield hospital site.
